Ray Borg will face Casey Kenney at UFC on ESPN 2: Edson Barboza vs. Justin Gaethje
Ray Borg (11-3 MMA, 5-3 UFC) will face Casey Kenney (11-1-1 MMA, 0-0 UFC) who will step in as late replacement. Ray was scheduled to fight Kyler Phillips but the UFC didn’t disclose a reason to why he had to withdrawal from the card.
UFC on ESPN 2: Edson Barboza vs. Justin Gaethje takes place at Wells Fargo Center in Philadelphia. The card airs on ESPN following early prelims on ESPN+.
Borgs last fight was back in October 2017 when he lost in a memorable submission against Demetrious Johnson at UFC 216.
As we remember, Borg did suffer an eye injury after Conor McGregor threw a dolly at the bus. He’s also had to deal with his newborn son experiencing a multitude of health issues. Now after 539 days we will finally see the “The Tazmexican Devil” in action in the octagon.
Kenney last fight was this past Friday at LFA 62 and earned a highlight-reel knockout. Kenney became LFA’s first-ever two-division champion knocking out Vince Cachero with a first-round knee to also become the interim bantamweight champion. The UFC called and he answered and will now make his promotional debut at UFC on ESPN 2.
