A strawweight matchup between fan favourite Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu player, Amanda Ribas and former Invicta FC strawweight titleholder, Angela Hill is currently being targeted to feature at a UFC Fight Night event on May 8th. As of writing, the UFC Apex facility in Las Vegas, Nevada is currently targeted to house the event.

Targeted to make her first Octagon walk since UFC 257 in January, Ribas had initially called for a rescheduled affair with another former Invicta FC titleholder, Michelle Waterson, however, the promotion appears to be leaning toward linking her with the ever-present, Hill.

36-year-old contender, Hill is also expected to make her second Octagon walk of the year, following a return to the winner’s enclosure at UFC Vegas 21 midway through March, where she scored a second career triumph over two-time foe, Ashley Yoder. News of the targeted matchup was first reported by MMA Fighting reporters, Guilherme Cruz and Damon Martin.

A five-fight Octagon veteran, Minas Gerais native, Ribas dropped her first promotional blemish at the above-mentioned, Abu Dhabi, UAE event — suffering a second-round knockout loss to striking compatriot, Marina Rodirguez. The loss snapped a promotional-perfect four-fight run for Ribas.

The Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and Judo black belt holds a 10-2 professional record, which includes Octagon triumphs over Emily Whitmire, multiple-time world Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu champion, Mackenzie Dern, Randa Markos, and a high-profile UFC 251 armbar win over now Bare Knuckle Fighting Championship feature, Paige VanZant.

A contestant on The Ultimate Fighter 20 — Hill has enjoyed an overall sixteen-fight run in the UFC from her two-stints.

A former Invicta FC strawweight best, the Maryland took home a unanimous decision win over Livia Renata Souza, before lodging her sole successful title defence against Kaline Medeiros.

With a record of 13-9 including five knockout victories, Hill has bested the likes of Maryna Moroz, Jodie Esquibel, Ariane Carnelossi, Hannah Cifers, and Loma Lookboonmee.

The UFC Fight Night event takes place on May 8th. — with a high-stakes potential bantamweight title-eliminator between the streaking number-one ranked, Cory Sandhagen, and former two-time bantamweight champion, T.J. Dillashaw who makes his first Octagon outing since January of 2019.
