Report – Casey O’Neill vs. Jessica Eye targeted for UFC 276 on July 2.

A flyweight matchup between the surging, undefeated contender, Casey O’Neill, and one-time division title challenger, Jessica Eye is currently targeted to land at UFC 276 on July 2. – from the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada.

Boasting an impressive 9-0 professional record, Irvine-born prospect, O’Neill most recently handed the veteran sport mainstay, Roxanne Modafferi a unanimous decision defeat in the latter retirement fight at UFC 271 in February.

For Eye, the one-time flyweight title challenger is currently in the midst of a three-fight losing skid, most recently finding herself on the receiving end of a unanimous judging defeat to fellow one-time title challenger, Jennifer Maia. ESPN MMA reporter, Brett Okamoto was first to report the targeted pairing of O’Neill and Eye.

A one-fight UAE Warriors feature, recent Xtreme Couture mover, O’Neill debuted in the UFC back in February of last year.

Landing in the organization with a knockout win over Shana Dobson, the highly-touted finisher then stopped Lara Procopio with a rear-naked choke win, before defeating Antonina Shevchenko – the elder sister of current flyweight best, Valentina Shevchenko with ground strikes prior to her win over Modafferi. 

15-10(1) as a professional, Eye, a native of Ohio had suffered a pair of losses against the duo of Joanne Wood, and Cynthia Calvillo.

In her most recent professional win, Eye defeated Brazil native, Viviane Araujo with a unanimous decision victory at UFC 245 in December 2019.

Over the course of her 15-fight Octagon tenure, Eye has defeated the likes of Katlyn Chookagian, Jessica-Rose Clark, Kalindra Faria, and Leslie Smith.
