UFC light heavyweight contender, Corey ‘Overtime’ Anderson, has reportedly penned a multi-fight deal with Scott Coker’s Bellator MMA.

Anderson, who last featured in the main event of UFC Fight Night Rio Rancho in February opposite perennial contender, former-foe Jan Błachowicz – requested his release from the promotion, despite the fact his contract had yet to expire. News of the signature was initially reported by ESPN’sAriel Helwani.

The 30-year-old Illinois native sat at #4 in the official 205-pound pile, and prior to his knockout loss to the aforenoted, Błachowicz – had tirelessly campaigned for a light heavyweight title tilt versus current champion, Jon ‘Bones’ Jones.

The February loss marked the first in five outings for Anderson, who had surged through the light heavyweight ranks with wins over Patrick Cummins, one-time title challenger, Glover Teixeira, Ilir Latifi – and a notable first-round knockout win over up and coming contender, Johnny Walker at UFC 244 last November.

The Ultimate Fighter 19 victor has been a part of the UFC roster since December of 2014 – competing fourteen times, and notching a 9-4 promotional record. In highlight wins, Anderson had bested Polish striker, Błachowicz back in September of 2015, before triumphs against Fabio Maldonado, and Tom Lawlor of note.
