Report – Dan Ige vs. Movsar Evloev in the works for UFC event on June 4.

An intriguing featherweight showdown between top-15 contenders, the #9 ranked, Dan Ige, and the #13 rated, Movsar Evloev is currently targeted for a UFC event on June 4. At the time of publication, a location, billing or venue for the event has yet to be determined by the promotion.

Attempting to snap a two-fight losing skid, Hawaii native, Ige suffered a unanimous decision loss against Josh Emmett at UFC 269 back in December, as his professional record fell to 15-5.

Undefeated as a professional, Evloev, who boasts a 15-0 record, managed to secure a unanimous decision win over recent feature, Hakeem Dawodu at UFC 263 back in June of last year. In the time since, Evloev was forced to withdraw from a planned UFC 270 bout with Ilia Topuria due to a positive COVID-19 test result. News of the targeted bout was first reported by ESPN MMA reporter, Brett Okamoto.

Before his judging loss to Emmett, Ige, a product of Dana White’s Contender Series, headlined UFC Vegas 29 back in June, suffering a one-sided unanimous decision loss against the #4 ranked contender, and incoming featherweight title challenger, Chan Sung Jung.


During his 11 fight stint with the organization, Ige has managed to amass a 7-4 promotional record, which his most recent win coming back in March of last year when he stopped Gavin Tucker with a one-punch knockout inside 22-seconds which earned him a Performance of the Night bonus.

Amongst his other organizational wins, Ige has defeated the likes of Edson Barboza, Mirsad Bektic, and Danny Henry to name a few. 

Evloev, a former M-1 Global bantamweight titleholder, has embarked on a five-fight winning run since his move to the UFC back in April 2019. 


Before his unanimous judging win over Dawodu, Evloev bested the quartet of Nik Lentz, Mike Grundy, Enrique Barzola, and Seung Woo Choi with decision successes.
