The Octagon return of one-time UFC welterweight title challenger, Darren Till has been pushed back once again, with a collarbone injury ruling him from a UFC on ABC 2 main event clash with surging Italian striker, Marvin Vettori on April 10th.

Slated to headline the event from the UFC Apex facility in Las Vegas, Nevada — Till most recently featured at UFC Fight Island 3 in July, where he suffered a unanimous decision loss to former middleweight champion, Robert Whittaker — sustaining an ACL injury in the process.

Expected to make his comeback from injury back at UFC Vegas 16 in December last against former Cage Warriors welterweight gold holder, Jack Hermansson, Till was forced to withdraw from that matchup due to an injury, with the above-mentioned, Vettori eventually matching with Hermansson on short-notice — taking a unanimous decision win. News of the fight’s cancellation was first reported by ESPN MMA reporter, Ariel Helwani — with MMA Junkie reporter, Nolan King detailing hwo Till had suffered an injury.

Dropping a unanimous decision defeat to Auckland-born favourite, Whittaker, Till has featured twice at middleweight — debuting in the division with a close split decision win over one-time interim title chaser, Kelvin Gastelum back at UFC 244 in November of 2019.

The victory snapped a two-fight skid for Till who had suffered a D’Arce choke loss to then welterweight champion, Tyron Woodley, before a second round UFC Fight Night London main event knockout defeat to Jorge Masvidal.

For Trento native, Vettori, the former Venator FC welterweight champion notched his fourth consecutive victory with his judging win over Hermansson, adding to a rear-naked choke triumph over Karl Roberson in June.

Speculation began to mount that the pairing of Till and Vettori was in jeopardy after the Italian took to his official Twitter account tonight — detailing how he always does his best to make it on fight night, however, the same can’t be same for his opponents.

(I) Always do my part 100% and these bunch of pussies can’t make it,” Vettori wrote. “I’m next in line for the title, whoever has something to say show the f*ck up in two weeks so I can whoop your ass and shut you off for good.

Per the above-mentioned report from King, recent UFC Vegas 22 headliner, Kevin Holland has offered to step-up on short-notice and replace Till following his unanimous decision loss to Derek Brunson, which would keep Vettori on the card — with the promotion currently exploring the possibility of obtaining a short-notice replacement for the Italian.
