For Prochazka, the former Rizin FF light heavyweight kingpin earned his title affair against Teixeira back in May – courtesy of a jaw-dropping second round spinning-back elbow knockout win over two-time title challenger, Dominick Reyes in a UFC Vegas 25 main event slot. ESPN MMA reporter, Brett Okamoto was first to report the news of the bout.
Prior to his light heavyweight championship win back in October, Connecticut resident and Brazil native, Teixeira had laid foundations for his second title siege with five consecutive wins – most notably stopping the pair of former title challengers, Thiago Santos, and Anthony Smith.
For Prochazka, the Czech knockout phenom improved his winning run professionally to 12 straight fights back in May – having landed in the Octagon back in July 2020 at UFC 251, stopping Volkan Oezdemir with a second round one-punch knockout win.
