An exciting lightweight showdown between Mateusz ‘Gamer’ Gamrot and veteran striker, Jeremy ‘Lil’ Heathen’ Stephens has been added to a UFC Fight Night event on July 17th. At the time of writing, a location or venue for the showcase has yet to be determined by the promotion.

Two-fight Octagon veteran, Gamrot recently rebounded from his first-ever professional loss, returning at UFC on ABC 2 in April against Scott Holtzman, scoring a second round knockout victory.

In the midst of a run that has failed to see him secure a victory in his last five professional outings, Stephens looks to push forward with a move back to the lightweight division, following a canceled showdown against Drakkar Klose at UFC Vegas 24 in April after he pushed Klose at the weigh-in, resulting in a spinal injury. News of the eye-catching showcase between Gamrot and Stephens was first reported by MMA Junkie reporters, Farah Hannoun and Nolan King.

Debuting under the UFC’s banner back in October of last year at UFC Fight Island 6, Gamrot, a former two-weight KSW titleholder battled with Georgian standout, Guram Kutateladze, dropping a very competitive close split decision defeat.

Suffering his first defeat in eighteen professional outings, the 31-year-old Pole, who plys his trade at American Top Team in Coconut Creek, Florida, has taken notable career wins over the likes of Mansour Barnaoui, Renato Gomes Gabriel, Marian Ziolkowski, and UFC lightweight alum, Norman Parke to name a few.

Scoring three Knockout of the Night honours and a further six Fight of the Night accolades across his lengthy UFC stint, Stephens has suffered four losses in his last five Octagon walks.

Featuring just once last year akin to Gamrot, the Des Moines, Iowa veteran suffered a notable step-in elbow loss to Calvin Kattar at UFC 249 last April in Jacksonville, Florida.

With a professional record of 28-18, Stephens has scored nineteen separate knockout wins in his storied run, including notable stoppages over the likes of former lightweight champion, Rafael dos Anjos, Justin Buchholz, Marcus Davis, Rony Jason, Dennis Bermudez, Doo Ho Choi, and Josh Emmett.
