UFC lightweight prospect, Paddy ‘The Baddy’ Pimblett has booked his next Octagon outing – returning on home soil at UFC Fight Night London in a lightweight pairing against three-fight Octagon veteran, Rodrigo ‘Kazula’ Vargas on March 19. The event is scheduled to take place at The O2 Arena in London, England.

Pimblett, a former Cage Warriors featherweight champion, made his long-awaited UFC bow back in September at UFC Vegas 36 – securing a first round knockout win over Brazilian striker, Luigi Vendramini in a rallying effort.

For Vargas, the 36-year-old boasts a 1-2 promotional record, most recently betting Rong Zhu with a unanimous decision victory at UFC 261 in April. MMA Latinoamerica Fight Club first reported the pairing on Twitter.

Reports were further corroborated by reporter, Cole Shelton, who also claimed that despite recent reports this week from UFC president, Dana White, a bout between Pimblett and Jared Gordon was never close to completion.

In the midst of a three-fight winning run, Pimblett, a staple of Next Generation MMA in his native Liverpool, managed to secure victories over Davide Martinez, and Decky Dalton prior to his 2021 move to the UFC.

A former undisputed Cage Warriors featherweight champion, Pimblett managed to secure the title with a first round knockout over Johnny Frachey, before then besting Julian Erosa with a unanimous decision win in his sole successful title defense.

For Vargas, in his promotional debut at UFC Fight Night Montevideo back in August 2019, the Mexico City native suffered a unanimous decision loss to Alex da Silva Coelho.

In February of the following year, Vargas suffered a disqualification loss against promotional-alum, Brok Weaver at UFC Fight Night Rio Rancho.

UFC Fight Night London is slated to take place on March 19. from The O2 Arena, with an official headlining bout for the event yet to be determined by the organization.
