Former Cage Warriors top contender, Rhys ‘Skeletor’ McKee is slated to make his second Octagon appearance in a debuting trip to Las Vegas, Nevada. Hoping to return to the win column, McKee tackles another recent falter, Alex ‘The Great White’ Morono in a welterweight clash on November 14th. from the UFC Apex facility.

Making his promotional debut on short-notice at UFC Fight Island in July opposite the streaking upstart, Khamzat ‘Borz’ Chimaev – the Ballymena native dropped a one-sided stoppage via opening-round ground-and-pound. The defeat snapped an eye-catching three-fight win streak.

Last featuring at UFC 247 in February, Morono also suffered his first defeat in three – dropping an early one-punch knockout defeat to reworked opponent Kalinn Williams, following a withdrawal from Dhiego Lima. News of the welterweight pairing was first reported by MMA Junkie reporters, Farah Hannoun and Simon Head.

McKee, 25 – arrived on Yas Island in Abu Dhabi, UAE – riding a notable three-fight rise. Originally scheduled to compete for the vacant Cage Warriors welterweight crown after the vacation of recent Bellator MMA debutante, Ross ‘The Hitman’ Houston – McKee had earned his title challenger status with wins over Hakon Foss, Perry Andre Goodwin, and Jefferson George.

From ten professional victories, McKee has managed a finish in each and every one of those wins, with seven knockouts and three submission stoppages. During his stint under the BAMMA banner, McKee scored a first-round knockout win over fellow promotional newcomer, Jai ‘The Black Country Banger’ Herbert.

A black belt in both taekwondo and Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu – Morono had established three straight wins over Song Kenan, Zak Ottow, and Max Griffin prior to his short-notice knockout defeat to Williams early this year.
A ten-fight UFC veteran, Morono has scored other notable victories over the likes of Kyle Noke, James Moontasri, and Josh Burkman.
