An exciting bantamweight division clash between the #6 ranked division contender, Rob Font, and the surging, #13 rated, Adrian Yanez is currently in the works for a UFC event on April 8. At the time of publication, an official billing, location, or venue for the event has yet to be determined by the organization.

Attempting to snap a run of two consecutive losses, New England Cartel staple, Rob Font suffered a unanimous decision loss to the streaking, Marlon Vera back in April in the main event of UFC Vegas 53. The matchup earned both Font and Vera honors as the Fight of the Night.

16-3 as a professional, Yanez competed just once this year akin to Font, himself stopping promotional alum, Tony Kelley with a one-sided first round knockout win at UFC Fight Night Austin back in June. Yanez has begun his UFC tenure with five straight wins. News of Font’s targeted return against Yanez was first reported by MMA Fighting reporter, Mike Heck

Slipping to 19-6 as a professional with his judging loss to Vera, Rob Font had previously headlined a December event last year against former undisputed featherweight champion, Jose Aldo, also dropping a unanimous decision defeat to the Brazilian.

Landing eight career knockouts to go with a further four submission wins, Font enjoyed an impressive winning streak over Bellator bantamweight champion, Sergio Pettis, Ricky Simon, as well as former title challenger, Marlon Moraes, and former champion, Cody Garbrandt before his loss to Aldo.

A product of Dana White’s Contender Series back in 2020, Yanez, 29 has defeated Victor Rodriguez, Gustavo Lopez, Randy Costa, and Davey Grant during his tenure with the organization, prior to his summer win over Kelley.
