Report – Sean O’Malley, Pedro Munhoz set to meet on July 2. UFC 276 card

The #10 ranked bantamweight contender, Pedro Munhoz is slated to welcome the streaking, Sean O’Malley to the Octagon on July 2. in a main card opener at UFC 276 – with the event set to take place at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada.
Munhoz, who attempts to snap a two-fight losing skid when tackling Montana native, O’Malley – suffered a one-sided unanimous judging loss to former two-time bantamweight champion, Dominick Cruz back in December at UFC 269.
Opening that UFC 269 main card in ‘Sin City’ to boot, O’Malley, a product of Dana White’s Contender Series, managed to stop Munhoz’s fellow Brazilian contender, Raulian Paiva with a dominant first round knockout win. Brett Okamoto of ESPN MMA was first to report O’Malley’s return against Munhoz.
“They wanted to see him fight Top 10,” Okamoto tweeted. “Here’s Top 10. UFC is finalizing Sean O’Malley vs. Pedro Munhoz for July 2, per sources.”
Before his success against Paiva, O’Malley landed a pair of other highlight-reel, dominant strike stoppage wins against both Kris Moutinho, and Thomas Almeida.
For Munhoz, the Sao Paulo contender attempts to prevent a third straight loss, after he dropped a prior August unanimous decision defeat against Jose Aldo.
In his most recent victory, Munhoz bested Jimmie Rivera in a promotional re-run, adding the Tiger Schulmann to notable other wins against Rob Font, and a knockout success against former bantamweight champion, Cody Garbrandt.
