Report – Tanner Boser vs. Ilir Latifi targeted for UFC event on June 5th.

A heavyweight matchup between Canadian contender, Tanner Boser and Swedish promotional mainstay, Ilir Latifi is currently in the works to feature at a UFC event on June 5th. — with a location or venue yet to be determined by the promotion to house the showcase.

Bonnyville native, Boser saw his two-fight knockout run halted at UFC Vegas 13 last November, dropping a unanimous decision loss to former heavyweight champion, Andrei Arlovski. As a result, the Canadian also slipped from the official heavyweight top fifteen.

Attempting to snap a three fight losing skid, veteran powerhouse, Latifi last featured against heavyweight knockout ace, Derrick Lewis at UFC 247 in Houston, Texas in February of last year– dropping a unanimous decision defeat in his divisional return. News of the targeted tie was first reported by MMA Empire

29-year-old Alberta striker, Boser has established a 3-2 promotional record since his move to the UFC back in October of 2019 at UFC Fight Night Boston.

Debuting with a unanimous decision triumph over Daniel Spitz, Boser then dropped a defeat to surging heavyweight contender, French standout, Ciryl Gane. Returning to winning-ways in June of last year, the former Unified MMA heavyweight champion, managed a knockout win over Philipe Lins, before returning the following month with another knockout stoppage of Raphael Pessoa. 

A twenty-three fight professional veteran, Latifi has featured in the UFC since April of 2013, where he debuted against current Bellator middleweight champion, Gegard Mousasi in a short-notice main event at UFC Fight Night Stockholm. 

The renowned puncher and submission threat has scored notable promotional victories over the likes of Cyrille Diabate, Sean O’Connell, Gian Villante, Tyson Pedro, and one-time interim light heavyweight title chaser, Ovince Saint Preux.
