Report: TJ Dillashaw vs. Cody Garbrandt Rematch Booked for UFC 227 at the Staples Center in LA

It’s reported that a rematch between rivals TJ Dillashaw and Cody Garbrandt are set to fight at UFC 227, where Dillashaw would look to defend his Bantamweight championship.

ESPN’s Brett Okamoto first reported the potential rematch, where the two will be set to fight at the Staples Center in Los Angeles on Aug. 4th.

The two first met at UFC 217 in Madison Square Garden, headlined by the returning Georges St-Pierre and Michael Bisping. Garbrandt, the champion at the time would forfeit his title to former Team Alpha Male member and training partner, Dillashaw.

Still bitter rivals, Garbrandt since losing the title, and after news broke TJ vs. DJ fell through, has rallied for a rematch via: social media, and while the fight might not make the most sense, the other top contender at 135lbs are tied up, leaving a narrow opening for Cody ‘No Love’s’ shot at putting that UFC gold around his waist.

While we await the official confirmation by the UFC, be sure to stay tuned for further updates on UFC 227 and more.
