A middleweight showdown between top-15 contenders, Uriah ‘Primetime’ Hall, and Andre ‘Sergipano’ Muniz is currently in the works to land at a UFC Fight Night card on April 16. At the time of publication, an official location or venue for the event has yet to be determined by the organization.

Sitting at #9 in the official middleweight rankings, Hall saw his four-fight winning run halted back in July at UFC Vegas 33 – dropping a unanimous decision loss to upcoming headliner, Sean Strickland.

4-0 during his UFC tenure so far, Muniz was scheduled to return against Dricus du Plessis at UFC 269 back in December, under the South African was forced from proceedings. Muniz instead met with Eryk Anders on short notice, scoring a first round armbar win. MMA Fighting reporter, Guilherme Cruz was first to report the targeted pairing of Hall and Muniz.

Before his July loss to Strickland, Spanish Town native, Hall was involved in a high-profile main card bout with former middleweight champion, Chris Weidman in April at UFC 261 – taking home a 17-second TKO victory after Weidman suffered a compound fracture of his right tibia and fibula after Hall checked an early leg kick attempt.

17-10 as a professional, Hall, a finalist of The Ultimate Fighter 17, has also defeated former middleweight kingpin, Anderson Silva, Devon Lewis, and recent PFL tournament victor, Antonio Carlos Junior during his recent streak.

Amongst his other Octagon victories, Hall has bested the likes of Chris Leben, Thiago Santos, Krzysztof Jotko, as well as current Bellator MMA middleweight champion, Gegard Mousasi.

A two-time feature of Dana White’s Contender Series, Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu ace, Muniz debuted in the UFC back in November 2019, besting Antonio Arroyo with a unanimous decision win, before stopping Bartosz Fabinski with an armbar win.

In a huge victory for Muniz back in May at UFC 262, the Montes Claros native became the first to submit former Strikeforce middleweight champion and decorated Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu player, Ronaldo Souza by submission – fracturing the veteran’s humerus with a first round armbar.

UFC Fight Night 206 is slated to take place on April 16. – with a high-stakes, potential welterweight title-eliminator rematch between the #4 ranked, Vicente Luque, and the #5 ranked, Belal Muhammad booked to headline.
