As per her lawyer, Dave Coleman, a woman has filed a multi-million euro personal injury lawsuit against former UFC lightweight and featherweight world champion, ‘The Notorious’ Conor McGregor in relation to an event which is alleged to have taken place in Dublin in December 2018.

Reported by ESPN MMA reporter, Marc Raimondi this evening, Coleman detailed how the woman in question, as well as her mother, had filed a lawsuit against the 32-year-old Crumlin native in the High Court on Monday this week, the latter in a smaller claim. An associate of McGregor’s has been listed as a co-defendant, with Coleman detailing how “Proceedings have been served. We can make no further comment as the matter is before the court“.

The alleged incident was investigated by An Garda Siochána, although charges were never brought against McGregor who himself has vehemently denied any wrongdoing in regards to the alleged incident.

Releasing a statement to The Independent, McGregor’s spokesperson, Karen Kessler detailed how McGregor will dispute the claims and how “justice will prevail“.

After an exhaustive investigation conducted by the Gardai which, in addition to interviews of the plaintiff, included interviewing numerous sources, obtaining witnesses’ statements, examining closed circuit (CCTV) footage and the cooperation of Conor McGregor, these allegations were categorically rejected,” The statement issued by Kessler read. “The plaintiff knows the facts contradict the assertions in this lawsuit. Mr. McGregor will dispute any claims and is confident that justice will prevail.

Back in 2019, as reported by The New York Times, McGregor was investigated in relation to two separate alleged sexual assault incidents, however, no charges had been brought against him. And as of writing, it’s unclear if those investigations are currently still active.

In September last, McGregor was arrested on the popular tourist island of Corsica in relation to an alleged attempted sexual assault and sexual exhibition — also denying any wrongdoing, claiming on a personal Facebook post how “the truth will always set me (him) free“. As with the above-mentioned allegations, it’s currently unknown if that investigation is still open.

McGregor is currently in Abu Dhabi, UAE along with his longtime partner, Dee Devlin, and his two children as he prepares for his first Octagon outing since January of 2020 — as he tackles former opponent, Dustin Poirier this weekend in the main event of UFC 257 at the Etihad Arena. The above-mentioned lawyer, Coleman, responded “no specific reason” when asked about the timing regarding the filing of the lawsuit to the High Court in Dublin.
