Three-time UFC middleweight title challenger, Yoel ‘The Soldier of God’ Romero, has been forced to withdraw from next weekend’s UFC Fight Night Vegas co-main event with TUF alumnus, Uriah ‘Primetime’ Hall – with reasons currently undisclosed.

Romero, 43, was set to make his first Octagon outing since his forgettable title tilt opposite current champion, Israel ‘The Last Stylebender’ Adesanya at UFC 248 in March, but will have to lay in wait in an attempt to snap a three-fight losing skid. Sources close to FightBook MMA confirmed Romero’s withdrawal, following an initial report from BJPENN.com reporter, Alfredo Zullino.

Prior to his latest championship assault, the Pinal del Rio native found himself on the wrong side of a competitive unanimous decision against upcoming title hopeful, Paulo Costa last August at UFC 241. Beginning his three-fight slide, Romero dropped a hugely close split decision to Robert Whittaker in a rematch, leaving himself ineligible to claim the title against the former gold holder, after tipping the scales at 185.2-pounds.

For Hall, who the promotion are reportedly attempting to keep on the August 22nd. card – the Spanish Town striker has notched victories in his last two appearances. Dispatching Antônio Carlos Júnior in a close split judging victory, Hall added ‘Shoeface’ to a winning run which includes a prior knockout over Bevon Lewis.

The 185-pound mainstay has featured in the Octagon fifteen times, lodging notable wins against one-time light heavyweight title challenger, Thiago Santos, decorated all-rounder, Gegard Mousasi, as well as Chris Leben. Against common opponents, Derek Brunson, Whittaker, and Costa – Hall has dropped defeats.
