It was a historic night for Combat Americas during their visit to Lake Tahoe, where two world championships were showcased in “La Jaula.”
The co-main event bout we saw Argentinean Bruno Cannetti (9-6) become the first featherweight champion in the history of Combat Americas, after defeating thebAmerican Andrés “The Bullet” Quintana (18-3) via unanimous decision (29-28, 29-28, 29-28).
The fight offered a high-caliber action, where Cannetti executed his plan perfectly, attacking his legs with a kicks and effectively taking him down.
In the main event, Gustavo López (11-4-1) defended his title for the first time the belt against Joey “The Hunter” Ruquet (7-3) in a dominant manner. Lopez hit a strong right hook to knock out his opponent at the 1:45 mark of the first round.
Gustavo López becomes the first fighter in the history of Combat Americas to successfully defend a champion belt.
