Roman Star Alessio Sakara Training Camp Quotes Ahead Of Gamebred Bareknuckle MMA Showdown Against Prince Mclean On Friday, November 15
BILOXI, MS. –– All-action Roman star Alessio “Legionarius” Sakara previewed his upcoming showdown against accomplished striker Prince McLean before they square off in the lates edition of Jorge Masvidal’s Gamebred Bareknuckle MMA taking place Friday, November 15 on the Gamebred Bareknuckle MMA YouTube Channel live from the Mississippi Coast Coliseum in Biloxi.
A long time training teammate of Masvidal’s at American Top Team, Sakara has trained at the gym since 2007 and took note of Gamebred Bareknuckle MMA’s rise and was eager to take part in “The Most Violent Show on Earth”.
“I actually had my first professional bareknuckle fight back in 2001 when I was in Brazil and fought in Vale Tudo, but when I saw what Masvidal was doing with Gamebred Bareknuckle MMA, and with the rules they have, I knew I wanted to try it. I’ve known Jorge since the Kimbo Slice days, so it’s really exciting to be on this promotion.”
With that previous professional bareknuckle experience, combined with his years fighting for UFC, Bellator and numerous promotions, Sakara enters the fight with a keen understanding of what to expect when the gloves come off.
“The preparation is different,” said Sakara. “The combinations are shorter and it’s more about precision. The head is very hard, so you have to be careful not to hurt your hands. Everything else with grappling and the ground game is pretty similar though.”
The multi-talented Sakara has also made waves in his native Italy as a host on the popular talent search show Tu Si Que Vales. A veteran in professional MMA and one of Rome’s most accomplished MMA fighters, Sakara has found how to balance all of his professional obligations while encouraging the next generation of Roman fighters.
“I’ve passed on many opportunities because I’m a fighter first and an actor second,” said Sakara. “It’s an honor to compete in this sport and hopefully help inspire the new generation of fighters. I’m proud to represent the Italian people and I want to show them that anything is possible. If you want it, you can train and work hard enough to get these opportunities.”
While Sakara’s combat life began with boxing training at age 11, he would eventually earn a black belt in Brazilian jiu-jitsu at 18 under former UFC veteran Marcus “Conan” Silveira. On November 15, he’ll be faced with an opponent standing at 6’ 5” in McLean, who previously competed in Gamebred Bareknuckle MMA last year against Alex Nicholson.
“I know that McLean is a striker,” said Sakara. “And I’m a very aggressive guy who likes to put the pressure on. I’m coming to put on a show for the fans, because this is the best bareknuckle MMA in the world. I have a black belt in jiu-jitsu and my grappling is great, but in my DNA, I’m a striker. I want to knock everybody out. I don’t just want to win by decision. It’s a war when I go in the cage!”
