Shauna Bannon eyes August return, weighs up potential Combate Global, Invicta FC move

Undefeated Irish prospect, Shauna Bannon has revealed she has received a slew of offers from several promotions off the back of her impressive second title coronation under the Cage Legacy banner – including deals from the likes of surging outfit, Combate Global, and the Shannon Knapp-led, Invicta FC.
Bannon, an alum of IMMAF (International Mixed Martial Arts Federation) and gold medalist under the organization’s banner, managed to maintain her undefeated record last time out at Cage Legacy 16 in June, defeating Chi Attoh to land her second promotional victory.
The 28-year-old Dubliner, who plys her trade the tutelage of UFC alum, Paddy Holohan at Holohan Martial Arts in the capital, has received a slew of offers from various promotions including the Campbell McClaren-led Combate Global, or the aforenoted, Invicta FC.
“I’d like to fight again before the end of September definitely – hopefully sooner, August or September,” Shauna Bannon told Severe MMA reporter, Ian O’Neill, during a recent interview. “I have offers from KSW, Invicta, Combate Global, and then recently, ARES reached out to me as well. Over the weekend, I’m gonna get them all out – pros and cons to all of them, and see what’s best for me and Jayce, because, at the end of the day, I need to provide for him.”
With a clear view to making an eventual landing in the Octagon and linking up in the UFC with fellow capital standouts, Ian Garry, and former two-weight champion, Conor McGregor, Bannon has reached out to her head coach, Holohan, in a bid to provide some clarity on her next step in the sport.
“Originally, I had the idea in my mind to do one fight deals, but I think when you do that with different companies, your pay doesn’t kinda increase, by bouncing from one to the other,” Shauna Bannon explained. “If you stick with one, you get more per fight. So I think like, until the UFC, I’m gonna go with either of these four, I think they’re the best four that have reached out to me. I just kinda need to figure out what’s best for me really.”
“I’m obviously getting Paddy’s advice as well and getting his opinion, and he’s reaching out to people and he’s getting opinions from others, so yeah, there’s a lot to be thought about,” Shauna Bannon said. “Obviously, I’m signing into something and being stuck in somewhere that I’m not happy with. …”
Making her professional debut back in April of this year at Cage Legacy 15, Bannon defeated Kerry Isom to scoop her first title with a series of second round ground strikes.
