With the goal of bringing back the glimmer in his once-promising mixed martial arts career, Shoaib Yousaf of the United Kingdom stood at the center stage of the fabled Arad Fort in Bahrain with his hand raised in triumph as he defeated featherweight opponent Shoaib Yousaf of South Africa BRAVE CF 50 in Bahrain on Thursday, April 1.
From start to finish, both went back-and-forth. Goncalves exhibited dynamic striking, feints, sweeping low leg kicks, and a powerful straight hand that had his highly-regarded English opponent backpedaling. Meanwhile, Yousaf landed the harder, more telling blows.
In the final frame, Yousaf performed slightly better overall with two successful takedown conversions and accurate combinations. After three rounds of non-stop action, the British fighter was declared the winner with the scores of 29-28, 29-28 and 30-27.
Yousaf moved up to an 8-2 slate with the win over Goncalves, while the latter dropped his pro record to 6-3.
