UTAH (Tue, January 16, 2018)– SteelFist Fight Night 55 took place in Utah on Sat, January 13, 2018 at the Rail Event Center. The entire card aired only on iPPV on 

SteelFist Fight Night continues to put on action packed fight cards and continued to do so. Only one fight on the card went the distance, with the majority of the fights ending in the very first round.

FightBookMMA’s correspondent Michael Dukes was in attendance covering the event. Below you will find the play-by-play and photographs of the nights event.

Amateur Middleweight (185 lbs)

Tanner Hinds (0-0-0) vs. William Bosley (0-0-0)

Tanner was relentless with his striking, pressuring Bosley and getting the quick TKO Victory.

Winner 0:52 in round 1 by TKO Tanner Hinds

Amateur Lightweight (155 lbs)

Rylin Murphy (0-0-0) vs. Bryan Finnerty (0-0-0)

The fight started out with Bryan getting the better of the striking exchanges but looked about even until Bryan hit Murphy with an uppercut that dropped him, getting the KO victory.

Winner 1:52 in round 1 by KO Bryan Finnerty

Amateur Heavyweight (265 lbs)

Loren Sua (2-0-0) vs. Bryce Scanlon (0-0-0)

Bryce goes for a takedown and absolutely dominates on the ground with his impressive striking and grappling, even getting to full mount but ultimately getting the finish with the rear naked choke.

Winner 2:16 in round 1 by submission (RNC) Bryce Scanlon

Amateur Middleweight (185 lbs)

Spencer Olsen (2-1-0) vs. Aldyn Ashcraft (3-3-0)

Fight started out pretty even with both fighters landing good shots until Ashcraft landed several right hands that dropped Olsen, getting the victory.

Winner 2:50 in round 1 by TKO Aldyn Ashcraft

Amateur welterweight title fight (170 lbs)

Lehi Dominguez (5-2-0) vs. Alonzo Salas (5-4-0)

The first round was even with both fighters with good strikes with Salas getting a takedown late in the round. The rest of the fight was dominated by Lehi with his relentless takedowns and grappling not giving Salas much of a chance to get back standing.

Winner by unanimous decision (49-46, 49-46, 49-46) and new amateur welterweight champion Lehi Dominguez

Amateur Bantamweight title fight (135 lbs)

Nathan Owens (3-1-0) vs. Tyson Roberts (4-1-0)

The fight started out even with the striking with Owens getting a takedown late in the first. The second and third rounds saw Owens hitting Roberts with a body shot that seemed to hurt him but recovered quickly and Owens getting another takedown. Owens came out in the fourth round pouncing on Roberts with his vicious striking, getting the TKO win.

Winner 0:38 in round 4 by TKO and the new amateur Bantamweight champion Nathan Owens

Pro Welterweight title fight (170 lbs)

Carson Gregory (9-1-0) vs. Mike Jones (8-4-0)

Carson aggressive with his striking early in the first until Jones scored a takedown and nearly finished the fight. In the second round, Jones scored another takedown and seemed to be winning when Carson locked in a triangle choke and got the submission win.

Winner 4:22 in round 2 by submission (triangle choke) and new Welterweight champion Carson Gregory

Pro Lightweight title fight (155 lbs)

Troy Denison (9-4-0) vs. Clay Collard (15-7-0)

Both fighters aggressive with their striking early on with clay getting a takedown and numerous elbows to Troy and getting the TKO victory

Winner 0:46 in round 2 by TKO and new Welterweight champion Clay Collard.
