Stockholm, Sweden – BRAVE Combat Federation has been at the forefront of change in the mixed martial arts world since its inception and, at a time where everything seemed to be at a standstill, the fastest-growing organization in MMA pulled together an incredible run of six events in as many weeks throughout Europe.
It was a time to give opportunities to the finest European athletes to be seen by a worldwide audience, and several names have taken the most out of it, transforming the course of their careers with incredible performances.
One of them is Sweden’s Anton Turkalj, who competes this Monday for the second time under the BRAVE CF banner. An outspoken figure, he has been garnering attention from fans and media for his claims as much as for his performances. After going through Greece’s Athanasios Herkeletzis in the first round, he is now set to face off against Ibo Aslan in the co-main event of BRAVE CF 40.
‘’BRAVE CF has been very good to me and to the Swedish fighters. There are no events happening in Europe and they have given us an opportunity to show ourselves, to fight, get paid, and keep growing. I want to fight again very soon for BRAVE CF’’, said Turkalj in a media interview during the build-up to his bout against Aslan.
Jesper Gunnarson, president of the Swedish MMA Federation, has also praised the way BRAVE Combat Federation has impacted his country’s MMA fighters and expressed his hopes to see the organization back very soon.
‘’Opportunity to compete is essential for all competitive athletes in our sport. Right now we struggle a lot with the pandemic and these events have been great opportunities both for our Swedish fighters as well as international ones’’, said Gunnarson, who also praised His Highness Shaikh Khaled bin Hamad Al Khalifa for his continued commitment to driving BRAVE CF forward.
‘’I’ve been involved in the organization of events before and I know it is hard work. So I salute anyone that drives a promotion and the sport forward’’.
