Tarek Suleiman confirmed that he will not be competing in Brave 13: Europe Evolution. The middleweight fighter from Syria suffered an injury during the wrestling session. Suleiman is the sole representation from Syria in Brave Combat Federation and was scheduled to face Chad Hanekom. Though he was ready to go into the fight despite the injury the final consultation with the athlete relations convinced him to withdraw from the bout due to the nature of the injury.
“It is unfortunate and disheartening to realise that I will not be able to compete in the fight card. This is the second time I came across the injury in my career at the same place. So for the long term advantage, it was suggested to heal and get prepared. Brave Combat Federation has offered me a fight in the upcoming edition of the event. The promotion takes care of the athletes and are genuinely concerned about the wellbeing of the athletes.”, Said Suleiman.
The bout was supposed to be the second fight for the Middleweight fighter who made his first appearance in Amman, Jordan at Brave 10: The Kingdom Rises.
“I was overwhelmed by the support and attention received for the crisis in Syria due to the platform of sports. This motivates me to showcase my best in the fights yet to come. My opponent showed respect and did not indulge in thrash talks, which was a moving gesture especially during the holy month of Ramadan. This has gained him a lot of respect. I will be back and I will make a difference in the Middleweight division at Brave Combat Federation. The opportunity to heal and prepare will make a difference in my career”, said Suleiman.
Saeed Younesi will replace Tarek Suleiman to face Chad Hanekom. Younesi fights out of Cologne, Germany and has five professional fights in his career. Out of his 5 fights all 4 was concluded in the first round. The bout will take place on 9th June at the SSE Arena in Belfast, Northern Ireland.
