Taura MMA signs former UFC fighters Adriano Martins, Luiz Dutra and Ednaldo Oliveira
Taura MMA’s roster just got bigger. The Brazilian promotion signed three former UFC fighters – Adriano Martins, Luiz ‘Besouro’ Dutra Jr, Ednaldo ‘Lula’ Oliveira – and a former Contender Series alum – Marcos Brigagão –, adding more known names to its cast.
Martins (28-11-1NC) became known as a Jungle Fight champion and, after a brief stint at Strikeforce, signed with the UFC, in which he fought for almost four years – accumulating four wins and three losses. The 37-year-old intends to show at Taura why he defeated great fighters such as Rustam Khabilov and Islam Makhachev.
Luiz ‘Besouro’ (13-7-1) attracted attention at ‘The Ultimate Fighter: Brasil 2’, fought twice at UFC and has been fighting for international promotions since then. Now at Taura, the veteran hopes to end his career in a big way.
In turn, Ednaldo ‘Lula’ (21-7-1-1NC) had a busy 2019, fighting five times until just before the pandemic. After some months of a compelled inactivity, the former UFC fighter wants to return to the cage as soon as possible and to be a contender to the belt currently owned by Richardson ‘Rick Monstro’ Moreira.
Last but not least, Marcos Brigagão (12-2) represents the new generation of Brazilian MMA. A Jessica Andrade’s protégé, the 24-year-old is one of the hottest prospects in his country. He fought at ‘Contender Series’ last year, ending on the wrong side of a judges decision, and choose Taura to get back on track.
