Another big star is headed to Taura MMA. The Brazilian promotion is proud to welcome Sergio Moraes, who has signed a multi-fight deal and will be part of the 170-pound division.
The 38-year-old has compiled a 14-5-1 record as a professional MMA fighter. His career has also included a stint in the Ultimate Fighting Championship, in which he defeated the likes of Neil Magny, Tim Means and Ben Saunders. Furthermore, Moraes was the runner-up in the first ‘The Ultimate Fighter: Brazil’.
‘The Pride of Cohab’, a four-time world champion in Brazilian Jiu-jitsu, will debut at Taura 10, on October 23, facing a opponent to be revealed. The card will be headlined by Felipe Gheno vs UFC-vet Bruno ‘Korea’, for the flyweight title. In the co-main event, Yasmin Castanho will defend her strawweight crown against Bruna Vargas. Also, bantamweight champion Douglas ‘He Man’ puts his belt on the line versus Gian Sarturi.
Moraes will join a roster filled with world-class athletes, such as Renan Barão, Rousimar ‘Toquinho’ Palhares, Godofredo Pepey, Fábio Maldonado, William ‘Patolino’ Macário, Guto Inocente, Antônio ‘Pezão’, Efrain Escudero, Daniel Sarafian, Bruno ‘Korea’, Gleison Tibau, Paulo Thiago and José Maria ‘No Chance’.
