Taylor out of CW 148, New Main Event Announced

Jesse Taylor is out of Saturday’s nights Cage Warriors main event against middleweight champion Christian Leroy Duncan.

The former champion was involved in a hit and run in London on Friday night, after which he was taken to a nearby hospital.

Taylor was kept in overnight and discharged on Saturday morning, but has not been medically cleared to compete.

As a result, Christian Leroy Duncan has been removed from the card, and Modestas Bukauskas vs Chuck Campbell for the vacant CW light heavyweight title has been promoted to the main event.

“There’s never a dull moment and there’s always drama in this game” said CW President Graham Boylan when announcing the news via social media.

“But the main thing is, everybody is OK.”

The entire Cage Warriors team wishes Jessy a speedy recovery.

Per Boylan’s announcement, middleweight clash between Justin Barry and Dario Belandi will now open the main card.

Following the changes, Saturday’s card is now as follows:

CW Light Heavyweight title bout: Chuck Campbell vs Modestas Bukauskas
Flyweight bout: Wilson Reis vs Tuomas Gronvall
Featherweight bout: Damon Wilson vs Tobias Harila
Catchweight (195 lbs) bout: Guilherme Cadena vs Darren Stewart
