Miesha ‘Cupcake’ Tate (18-7 MMA, 5-4 UFC) has decided to make a surprising comeback from a November 2016 retirement. She returns to the Octagon on July 17th to take on Marion ‘The Belizean Bruiser’ Reneau (9-7-1 MMA, 5-6-1 UFC) at UFC on ESPN 26.
In episode #1 of her vlog, Tate provides an inside look at her fight-camp preparation, her mindset going into the fight. She also shows us some of her strength and conditioning training at the UFC Performance Institute in Las Vegas and some pad drills at her home gym Xtreme Couture.
Miesha ‘Cupcake’ Tate states: “I used to go so hard, and I used to put myself under so much stress and now I’m like, ‘What if I got rid of all that? What if I don’t need that to be better? What if I don’t have to get through all these big moments of adversity before the fight? What if I just had the fight? What if? ‘Marion Reneau is going to be the first woman to find out. She’ll be the first woman to really fight the Miesha Tate that I believe I could have been all along, but it’s better late than never. I’m not out of this game, so I’m happy for the comeback.”
In episode #2 of Tate’s vlog, Jake Shields pushes Tate on her cardio and works on her ground game.
