The UFC has confirmed the signing of undefeated British mixed martial arts standout, Muhammad ‘The Punisher’ Mokaev to a multi-fight deal with the organization.

Mokaev, a native of Manchester, England by way of Dagestan, boasted an undefeated record of 23-0 as an amateur — where he managed to land two consecutive bantamweight crowns at the IMMAF World Championships in 2018 and 2019.

The 21-year-old is currently 5-0 as a professional since his bow back in August of last year under the banner of Middle East-based promotion, Bahrain’s Brave CF.

Speaking of Mokaev’s signature to the Ultimate Fighting Championship, UFC matchmaker, Mick Maynard insisted that he had been monitoring the progress of Mokaev for some time before his signing in a statement released by the promotion this evening.

Muhammad [Mokaev] is a flyweight I had been keeping an eye on for quite some time,” Maynard said. “He is very experienced at only 21 years old with almost 30 fights when you combine amateur and pro bouts. He is undefeated, dynamic and very charismatic. Muhammad sees himself as a flyweight (version) Khabib [Nurmagomedov]. He is a perfect fit for this young, fun division.

A British champion in freestyle wrestling and European champion in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu competition, Mokaev has spent the opening five bouts of his professional career competing under the banners of the aforenoted, Brave CF as well as twice under the scrutiny of Celtic Gladiator — the first of which came in an exhibition matchup.

Mokaev last featured professionally at Brave CF 54 in September of this year where he finished Bellator MMA alum, Blaine O’Driscoll with an opening round rear-naked choke win. The Manchester standout holds two knockout wins and a further two submission triumphs from four professional outings.
