Tipperary native Will Fleury returns at EFM 2, meets Hojat Khajevad on September 11th.

Tipperary-born striker, Will Fleury is set for his first outing in a year’s time — booking a European Fight Masters appearance against Hojat Khajevand as part of the promotion’s EFM 2 event on September 11. in Sofia, Bulgaria.

Fleury, who boasts a 8-3 professional record, last featured professionally under the Bellator MMA banner back in September of last year as part of the promotion’s Euro Series 8 in Milan, Italy — scoring a unanimous decision victory over recent Cage Warriors feature, Kent Kauppinen.

For Tehran-born submission threat, Khajevad, is set for his third outing under the European Fight Masters banner in between a brief stint with the German MMA Championship — besting Erol Bayraktar via unanimous decision in his last professional walk. 

Confirming the pairing on his official Facebook page, Fleury claimed he would “dismantle” Khajevad ahead of the September showdown.

In 2 weeks’ time I dismantle this poor Iranian,” Will Fleury wrote. “It’s been almost a year since I’ve smashed for real and in that time I’ve become a different beast technically, physically, and mentally. Can’t wait to show it.

Fleury, 32, is an alum of both Brave CF and the aforenoted, Bellator MMA — competing six times under the Scott Coker-led promotional banner where he managed to establish an impressive 4-2 record.

The Straight Blast Gym and Samson Martial Arts trainee has notched noteworthy professional victories over the likes of Tarek Suleiman, Shaun Taylor, Antonio Jones, Justin Moore, as well as the aforementioned, Kauppinen. 

Khajevad, a staple of Fightclub Freiburg in Germany, holds a 4-2 professional record — securing a pair of D’Arce choke and rear-naked choke victories over both Damian Ostep, and Norbert Jablonski. 

The EFM 2 card features three other high-profile pairings, including a lightweight title bout between Artur Sowinski and Anton Kuivanen, as well as UFC lightweight alum, Norman Parke who tackles Vladislav Kanchev in the co-headliner. Taking top billing; a showdown at 194lbs between Michael Materla and Moise Rimbon.
