PROVIDENCE, RI – CES MMA is locked and loaded for its long-awaited return tonight with a star-studded lineup featuring a mix of fan-favorites and soon-to-be household names.
CES MMA 61, the promotion’s first live event since January 24 due to global COVID-19 pandemic, takes place tonight, Wednesday, October 14 at 7 pm ET at “The Tent” at the Crowne Plaza Hotel in Warwick, RI, live on UFC FIGHT PASS®.

Two highly-anticipated bouts share top billing on the main card, beginning with unbeaten welterweight John Gotti III (5-0, 3 KOs) of Oyster Bay, NY, putting his perfect record on the line in his toughest test to date against New Hampshire native Nick Alley (6-3, 1 KO), who has won his last three bouts. The other half of Wednesday’s dynamic doubleheader features submission specialist Fabio Cherant (5-1) of Wrentham, MA, who recently ended a year-long layoff with a victory in July, returning to the CES MMA cage in a light heavyweight battle against unbeaten Yu Ji (3-0, 2 KOs) of New York.

There will be no fans in attendance due to COVID-19 restrictions, but CES 61 will stream live on FIGHT PASS, the industry’s preeminent streaming service for combat sports. Visit FIGHT PASSfor more information on subscription packages and how to access to the service live on fight night.
The wildly-entertaining Gotti looks to pick up where he left off at CES 60 in January when he aced the major test of his career with flying colors, defeating the game Marcos Lloreda by unanimous decision. The win over Lloreda marked the first time he had fought past the opening round, forcing him to make critical mid-fight adjustments against an opponent pulling out all the stops. He expects a similar battle Wednesday night against Alley, a Hooksett native and submission specialist who has finished each of his last three opponents in the opening round – two via triangle choke.

Fan-favorite and bantamweight Kris Moutinho (7-4, 2 KOs) of Milford, MA, an 11-time CES MMA vet, steps up to face rising prospect Ashiek Ajim (3-0, 2 KOs) of New York, who has fought his entire career for CES MMA since turning pro in May of 2019, including his recent third-round knockout over previously-unbeaten Andres Rodriguez at CES 60.

Returning to the CES MMA cage for the first time since 2017 – and the seventh time in his career – heavyweight Tyler King (12-8, 3 KOs) of North Attleboro, MA, battles hard-hitting Spokane, WA, native Jamelle Jones (9-6, 5 KOs), a two-time UFC vet who faced CES MMA alum William Knight at CES 59 last October. CES MMA newcomer Mitch Raposo (4-0, 1 KO) of Fall River, MA, in an exciting bantamweight bout against two-time CES MMA vet Matt Almy (4-3, 1 KO) of New York, whose earned a signature win over then unbeaten Richie Santiago at CES 49.

Lightweight Eddy George (1-0, 1 KO) of West Haven, CT, looks to continue the momentum from his pro debut win at CES 60 when he faces New Yorker Frank Mazepa (2-6). Also on the preliminary card, featherweight Connor Matthews (2-0, 1 KO) of Freetown, MA, makes his long-awaited CES MMA debut in a showdown with Atlanta native Joshua Marer (2-1).

The broadcast duo of CES MMA publicist and play-by-play announcer Michael Parente (@MichaelParenteand 27-time UFC vet and color commentator Joe Lauzon (@JoeLauzonbring you the action live on FIGHT PASS.
