UFC 251: Usman vs Masvidal fight card, start times and betting odds

UFC 251: Usman vs Masvidal will take place Saturday, July 11 at Yas Forum on Abu Dhabi’s Yas Island. UFC FIGHT ISLAND will be headlined by a trio of world championship bouts.

The main event will stream live on Pay-Per-View exclusively through ESPN+ in the U.S. at 10 p.m. ET/7 p.m. PT in both English and Spanish. Preliminary fights will air nationally in English on ESPN and ESPN+, and in Spanish on ESPN Deportes, starting at 6 p.m. ET/3 p.m. PT with the first four bouts also simulcast on UFC Fight Pass.

In the main event, Welterweight champ Kamaru ‘The Nigerian Nightmare’ Usman fighting out of Boca Raton, Fla. by way of Auchi, Nigeria will be defending his belt when he takes on Jorge Masvidal fighting out of Miami, Florida.

The switch from Gilbert Burns to Jorge Masvidal is viewed as a good thing for Kamaru Usman, especially with the American stepping in on just six days’ notice. Usman was roughly a -200 favorite over Burns, but is as short as -334 against Masvidal. Bettors looking to back the favorite could still find him at -280 at certain sportsbooks on Monday morning, though it’s likely those odds are going to change drastically. In the co-main event, we will see a featherweight championship rematch between Alexander Volkanovski (21-1) fighting out of Windang, New South Wales, Australia takes on Max Holloway (21-5) fighting out of Waianae, Hawaii. Vokanosvski is coming into this fight to prove that his title victory over Holloway was no fluke while Holloway is looking for revenge against the man who took his belt. The betting lines have Volkanovski at -235 while his oppoent Holloway at +195.

In the featured bout, Petr Yan (14-1) fighting out of Yekaterinburg, Russia has quickly emerged as one of the top bantamweights in the world since fighting under the UFC banner with a KO victory against Teruto Ishihara back in 2018. Jose Aldo (28-6) fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil hopes to become the eighth athlete to win championships in two UFC divisions. Whoever comes the victor will be the new bantamweight titleholder. The betting lines for this fight have Yan at -225 while Aldo at +185.
