This weekend is UFC 267 taking place at the Etihad Arena in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates. The fight will take place on Saturday, October 30^th at 2:00 p.m. ET or 7:00 p.m. BST

For the main event current heavyweight champion, Jan Błachowicz, will be facing a challenge from the former title challenger Glover Teixeira.

The co-main event will also see another championship fight in the Bantamweight division.

Petr Yan, the current champion, will be facing a challenge from Cory Sandhagen.

Błachowicz vs. Teixeira

For the main event, Błachowicz (28-8-0) will be fighting against Teixeira (32-7-0) in the Light Heavyweight division.

Blachowicz is the Light Heavyweight champion, with Teixeira following behind at second place in the rankings. They were due to fight n UFC 266, but the bout was pushed back in June.

Jan Blachowicz won the vacant Light Heavyweight championship title after Jon Jones vacated the title after citing salary disputes with UFC and a desire to compete at heavyweight. Blachowicz has defended his title only once before at UFC 259 against Israel Adesanya.

Teixeira holds the UFC all-time records for most submissions and finishes in his division and last year Teixeira’s fight against fellow Brazilian Light Heavyweight fighter, Thiago Santos, earned him “comeback of the year” awards from Combat Press and BT Sports. When he won by placing Santos in a final round rear choke hold.

Petr Yan vs. Cory Sandhagen

Petr Yan (15-2-0) will be fighting against Cory Sandhagen (14-3-0) in the Bantamweight division.

Yan is the current interim champion, while Sandhagen is ranked at #3. Both Yan and Sandhagen are coming off a loss, though more is at stake for Yan. Yan was disqualified in UFC 259 in his match against Aljamain Sterling from an illegal knee. Sterling was due to have a rematch for the title though pulled out as he was reportedly still suffering from neck injuries.

Yan is the favourite to win and will likely retain his title

Islam Makhachev vs. Dan Hooker

Makhachev (20-1-0) will be fighting against Hooker (21-10-0) in the Lightweight division.

Makhachev is currently ranked in 5^th position on the UFC lightweight rankings, with Hooker following at #6. Hooker has made a comeback breaking a small losing streak in September, winning against Nasrat Haqparast in UFC 266. Though Makhachev is the favourite with only one loss on his record, in UFC 192, nearly 6 years ago.

Alexander Volkov vs. Marcin Tybura

Volkov (33-9-0) will be fighting against Tybura (22-6-0) in the Heavyweight division.

Volkov is predicted to make a comeback from his recent loss against Ciryl Gane. Volkov is the currently #5 in the heavyweight rankings and has previously been a champion outside of UFC tournaments. Like Volkov, Tybura was previously a heavyweight champion in M1-Global. Tybura is rranked in 9^th position in the UFC rankings.

Li Jingliang vs. Khamzat Chimaev

Jingliang (18-6-0) will be facing a challenge from Chimaev (9-0-0) in the Welterweight division.

Jingliang has more wins and is ranked at 11^th position, far above Chimaev at 21.

Outside of UFC, Chimaev remains undefeated both in his professional career and is a three-time Swedish National Champion in Wrestling. More eyes are on Chimaev, last he won he breakout fighter of the year. And after testing positive for COVID, Chimaev considered retirement after multiple hospitalizations and cancelled fights.
