Oliveira VS Poirier
For the main event, Charles Oliveira (13-5-0) will be facing a challenge from former interim champion against Dustin Poirier (28-6-0) in the lightweight division.
Oliveira won the vacant Lightweight Championship in May against Michael Chandler and broke the UFC record for most finishes in a fight, with 17 finishes. Poirier briefly held the interim title in 2019 but lost it to Khabib Nurmagomedov. Poirier won’t be underestimated from his recent wins against Conor McGregor, which saw a doctor intervene due to McGregor suffering from a broken tibia.
Parimatch’s UFC odds has predicted a win for Poirier
- Dustin Poirier Win 4/9
- Charles Oliveira Win 11/8
Nunes VS Peña
Amanda Nunes (21-4-0) is a two division Champion in both the Women’s Bantamweight Featherweight division. Nunes will be facing off a challenge from the number #3 Women’s Bantam fighter Julianna Peña (10-4-0).
The fight was originally scheduled for August but the bout was cancelled and delayed as Nunes tested positive for COVID and needed recovery time. Nunes also makes an appearance in Halle Berry’s recent MMA film, Bruised on Netflix.
Unsurprisingly, Parimatch has predicted that Nunes will retain her title
- Amanda Nunes Win 1/10
- Julianna Peña Win 6/1
Ponzinibbio VS Neal
Geoff Neal (13-4-0) will be fighting against Santiago Ponzinibbio (28-4-0) in the Welterweight division.
Ponzinibbio is currently ranked at #14 in the Welterweight rankings while Neal closely follows at #12. Both fighters had an impressive career outside of UFC. Before signing with the UFC , Ponzinibbio took part in dozens of tournaments in South America including AFC (Argentina Fighting Championship), BFL (Brazilian Fighting League) and Insano Empalux Grand Prix. Before signing with he UFC, Neal competed in 10 official matches including the Legacy Fighting Championship, winning 8 out of the 10.
Neal could do with a comeback having lost his previous two matches. Neal was recently arrested for driving under the influence with possession of an unlawful firearm in his native Texas. While Ponzinibbio will be entering the match confident, coming off a recent win against Miguel Baez in June and has no legal troubles.
Parimatch’s odds are too close to call. Both Fighters are evenly matched.
