UFC LIVERPOOL – who should be on the card?
The UFC officially announced before the UFC London weigh-ins at the O2 Arena, that they will bring the show to The Echo Arena, Liverpool May 27th.
We already know that Darren Till will headline, But who should join him on what will be a crazy night of fights?
I fell that not only Liverpool but the whole of the UK & Ireland have some of the most exciting fighters on the planet at the minute.
below are 5 people who i believe deserve their shoot in the UFC
1st person on the list for me has to be “Meatball” Molly McCann. Currently the 125lbs Flyweight CageWarriors Champion & one of the games rising stars fighting in her own back yard is sure to get the local fan base that already adore Molly, To come out again and support this young lady as she takes the world by storm.
Next on the list is Paddy “The Baddy” Pimblett. Now this guy if you have never heard the name is a show-man who can also fight. Paddy is another home town hero who up until cage warriors 82 was the Featherweight champion losing to Current UFC fighter Nad Narimani. Paddy took some time off after that fight to reevaluate his game, which if we look at his last fight against Alexis Savvidis. Paddy look a much more controlled fight, even though Paddy thrives in the Chaos of a fight. Paddy is Currently in NYC training at Renzo Gracie academy and is sure to hit UFC Liverpool by storm
Mike Grundy is up next. Many outside of the UK &Ireland may not know this name but as one of Darren Tills main training partners at Team Kaobon I’m sure you will see and hear more about him. Mike is without a doubt a Freestyle wrestler having won bronze at the Commonwealth games in 2014, but since going pro as a MMA fighter he has amassed a record of 11-1 with 8 subs to his name. If you are looking for a surprise name this is my choice.
Next up is is Rhys “Skeletor” McKee. Rhys is a young man from Northern Ireland & in the space of 12 months has come back from his 1st loss & losing his belt to Tim Barnett. To put on one of the most dominant displays we have seen from the young man to claim back World Lightweight belt at BAMMA34. Although young Rhys has the mind-set & skills to take on the best in the world at any level. Currently 7-1 in his career this is a man who will surly hear Bruce Buffer call his name in the UFC. Will it be Liverpool? I for 1 hope so.
Last but not least is Karl Moore. Karl is currently the Cage Warriors Light-Heavyweight Champion & at Cage Warriors 92 has the chance to become one of the baddest men on this planet, as he takes on current Cage Warriors Heavyweight Champ Mauro Cerilli. If Karl can win both the light-heavyweight & heavyweight straps he will be the first person to do so since a Young Conor McGregor did the same. Fighting out of Belfast Karl has amassed a record 8-1 I a short period of time. Who can argue with his spot at UFC Liverpool if he is holding the two straps
Though these are my top 5, I would like to see a few more honourable mentions who should get a spot also:
Nathaniel Wood – Bantamweight
Chris Fishgold – Lightweight
Lee Chadwick – Middleweight
Fabian Edwards – Middleweight
