UFC Vegas 91: Match predictions

UFC Vegas 91 will be held on April 28 at the UFC APEX, Las Vegas. Before the fight, knowing how to bet on MMA can be potentially rewarding if you are well-prepared. With this, here are some early match predictions for the main card fights of the night:

Matheus Nicolau vs Alex Perez

For the main event of UFC 91, both fighters are coming off losses making it an intriguing fight to watch. With a 19-3 win-to-lose ratio, Matheus Nicolau is a solid fighter to watch out for in this matchup.

Although coming from a knockout loss to Brandon Royval, he showed how dangerous he could be in the ring. He is a clean and technical striker with competent grappling skills. Initially, Nicolau was supposed to face Manel Kape but he dropped out of the fight. With that, Perez steps into the ring. He is known for wearing his opponents down.

Once he gets them to the ground, he will stick to control and work towards a submission. Also, Perez is an amazing low-kick striker who is skilled at punishing his opponents. However, it is also best to note that he doesn’t have a win against an active roster UFC fighter.

With these in mind, Nicolau is the favourite to win this fight. Despite Perez’s feats, Nicolau still has the better and faster striker between the two which may earn him this main card win.

Ryan Spann vs Bogdan Guskov

The co-main event of the evening will be between Ryan Spann and Bogdan Guskov. Spann is a 6’5 foot powerhouse striker with an incredible 79-inch reach. With a 21-9 win-to-lose ratio, he has 12 stoppages through submissions which means he isn’t only about power.

Guskov, on the other hand, is a heavy-handed fighter. He throws big and fast strikes at his opponents with a combination of great footwork. If Guskov doesn’t get the knockout early, he will work his opponent to the cage and get a takedown. He is coming into this fight with a win against Zac Pauga.

Despite Spann coming from a two-fight skid, he is the favourite to win in this match. This is by far one of the biggest tests of Guskov’s career but he can win it if he can throw the necessary big punches in the fight.

Ariane Lipski vs Karine Silva

The fight between Ariane Lipski and Karine Silva will be an interesting watch considering the track record of the two. This is solely because this is the only fight of the card where both fighters are on win streaks.

Coming into the fight, Silva is on an eight-fight win streak with a 17-4 win-to-lose ratio. In the ring, she likes to go on the offence and throw a flurry of moves onto her opponent, wearing them down.

On the other side of the ring is Lipski. Although known as a ‘pitter patter’ striker, she redeemed herself by going on a three-fight win streak. She is best known for her striking with a 17-8 win-to-lose ratio. Her biggest weakness, however, is grappling.

Although Lipski is the favourite to win this match, Silva is a strong underdog. Expect Silva to dominate, leaving no space for Lipski to fight back.

Tim Means vs. Uros Medic

The main card opener of the night will be a fight between Tim Means and Uros Medic. It will be an interesting fight considering the experience difference between the two. Although he is 40 years old, Tim Means is an active and well-rounded fighter. He is best known for his stance changes and high-volume striking. This allows him to work his way through a takedown when needed. Means has a 33-15 win-to-lose streak ratio coming into the fight.

While Means came off a win against Andre Fialho, Uros Medic came from a loss. During this fight, he was taken down seven times by Myktybek Orolbai. Nevertheless, he is still a clean technical striker who has both speed and power with a 9-2 win-to-lose ratio.

This makes Medic a fighter to watch out for in this fight. Not only is he younger, but he is also a better striker. However, if Medic isn’t able to take down Means in the first rounds, the table can be turned.

Knowing how to bet on MMA means doing your research before the event takes place. With this, make sure to gather enough information to make informed betting decisions and increase your chances of winning.
