Minsk, Belarus – Vadim Kutsyi is meant for greatness. The Belarusian star is being shaped to represent his country at the highest level for the last few years. He’s now about to take the most important step in his professional career and the stakes couldn’t be higher.
At BRAVE CF 51, the event that marks the truly global promotion’s debut in his home country, Kutsyi is set to face Daniyar Abdibaev in a featured Super Welterweight match.
For him, the contest is more than a chance to improve his record to a staggering 16-1, or his current winning streak to 8 consecutive victories. It’s the opportunity to make a statement and cement his name among the top athletes in the world.
“It’s a huge opportunity to be part of BRAVE CF 51 here in Minsk”, Kutsyi said. “It’s unbelievable that I’ll have the chance to show my best and perform at home on such a massive stage, such a big event”.
He continued mentioning his perception of the continuous expansion of BRAVE Combat Federation into the European MMA scene. “There’s no doubt that BRAVE CF is gaining territory inside Europe. Moreover, taking into consideration the current situation, I can say that it’s one of the most popular events in Europe and I’m glad I’m able to be part of it”, he commented.
But at the same time it’s a unique chance, fighting at home can also mean an extra amount of pressure over his shoulders. “From one side you’ll feel this emotional support and it brings you extra power but it’s also really hard because of the responsibility lying on you”, he admitted.
A solid performance and a win will draw the attention of the BRAVE CF fans but Kutsyi himself has a preferred target audience for his upcoming presentation: the current Super Welterweight world champion Jarrah Al Silawi.
“First, he (Jarrah) deserves the place he’s at now and I truly believe he will hold it for some time… But we are coming, his new competition, and, for sure, I am the most dangerous one standing out from the pack”, he warned.
BRAVE CF 51 will take place on June 4th, in Minsk, Belarus. The event will be headlined by the Lightweight bout between the former world champion Lucas “Mineiro” Martins and Germany’s Marcel Grabinski and is hosted in association with Rukh Sport Management.
