The event takes place on Friday, August 2nd at The Bomb Factory in Dallas, Texas. The entire main card will be televised live and nationwide on AXS TV at 9 p.m. ET / 6 p.m. PT.
The last time we saw these fighters meet in the octagon was back on November 11, 2014, at Legacy 37. Mowles got the unanimous decision victory after three rounds and got himself a win in his first professional fight.
In the main event for LFA 73, Levi Mowles (11-4) comes in with a 4-1 LFA record, with his only loss coming at the hands of Raufeon Stots who is undefeated in the LFA. We last saw him in March at LFA 62, when he choked out Ahment Kayretli in the third round. Adrian Yanez (9-3) took a short break from the LFA to fight in Fury Fighting earlier this year after his loss to Miles Johns who was recently promoted to the UFC. Both of Yanez’ losses in the LFA have come at the hands of current UFC fighters. He now returns for another main event bout with a vengeance, touting a two-fight win streak and a 2-2 LFA record.
In the co-main event, we have another explosive matchup with Austin Lingo taking on Solo Hatley Jr. Both of these fighters have had highlight-reel knock-outs this year. Most recently, the 5’6″ Solo Hatley Jr. knocked out 6’4″ TeeJay Britton at LFA 67. His ability to overcome an 8.5″ reach disadvantage landed him a spot in the LFA 73 co-main event against the undefeated Austin Lingo. Lingo has fought five of his six professional bouts in the LFA, three of which ended with a finish. This will be an important fight not only for both the fighters, but the extremely competitive featherweight division as well.
The feature fight of the night brings back the exciting women’s flyweight prospect Hailey Cowan. This will be her fifth fight since May 2018 and she is riding a three-fight win streak. “All Hail” has since gone undefeated and will now try to get her fifth win in a row. Her opponent, Jessica Middleton, is a five-fight Bellator vet and will be making her LFA debut this Friday.
