Will Jinder Mahal Get Another Push?

Jinder Mahal getting confronted by The Rock on the Day One edition of Monday Night Raw was among the most memorable moments of his WWE career. Since losing the WWE Championship to AJ Styles in late 2017 after holding the belt for almost six months, Jinder Mahal’s stock has plummeted to where he’s mainly wrestled as a lower-to-mid-card wrestler. Although he’s had a few high-profile matches with big names like Roman Reigns and Drew McIntyre, Jinder Mahal’s WWE run since losing the WWE Championship has been mostly forgettable.
However, with Jinder Mahal getting involved in one of the most talked about segments of 2024, could this mean Jinder Mahal may be getting another major push soon? Considering he’s now next in line to face reigning World Heavyweight Champion Seth Rollins for the belt, even though he has little chance of winning the World Heavyweight Championship, the fact that Jinder Mahal’s getting a shot for a world championship itself shows there’s a chance he could once again become a prominent performer on WWE TV.
But then again, if Jinder Mahal were to get a push in 2024, one would think it would depend on whether the fans would take a liking to the idea of Jinder Mahal as a main-event talent, in general. Although he has his fans, Jinder Mahal wasn’t exactly the most well-liked WWE superstar when he was WWE Champion in 2017.
And even since losing the belt, there hasn’t been much of an interest for fans to see him as a world champion for the second time. Jinder Mahal is a talented performer, but one could argue that his on-screen character couldn’t connect well with the WWE audience.
On the other hand, Jinder Mahal is arguably among the most talked about performers in today’s wrestling, considering his recent segment with The Rock and AEW president Tony Khan taking shots at his booking, to which many came to Jinder Mahal’s defense. As Jinder Mahal is 37 and isn’t that much older compared to the other several main-event talents in WWE, big things could be on the horizon for Jinder Mahal.
