Kristi Garr is quickly establishing herself as a prospect to watch in MMA.
Prior to entering the cage, Garr, 27, was a four-time All American wrestler at Oklahoma City University. The multiple-time national wrestling champ is 3-2 since turning her focus to MMA.
“I’m not really happy with that I’ve done so far in MMA,” Garr admits, “but I know I put forth my best effort in the fights that I’ve lost, and it’s only made me hungrier.”
She’s back in action at Lights Out 4 on June 29, taking on Kara Marie Vislosky for the vacant Lights Out Fights amateur atomweight title in Grand Rapids, Mich.
“I’m really grateful for this opportunity,” says Garr, “I’m not really pleased with my last performance, so I’m really grateful for the opportunity to fight for the belt against a really game opponent. This is a really great opportunity for me, and I’m really grateful to Matt and Ashley Frendo for it.”
