After months in hiatus due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Xtreme Fight Night returned to Oklahoma as they hosted XFN 367.
This event took place on Friday, August 7, 2020 at River Spirit Casino Resort in Tulsa. FightBook MMA correspondent Arlow Jumper was in attendance covering the event.
Eight of the world’s hardest hitters went toe-to-toe in an action-packed 8-Man Heavyweight Tournament. The champion must win three fights in one night. This event aired live on UFC Fight Night and seating was reduced to half-capacity to allow for appropriate social distancing measures.
The event started off with the Kickboxing Heavyweight Tournament. Haze Wilson fighting out of Tulsa, Oklahoma took on Demoreo Dennis fighting out of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. This was an exciting first fight of the night that had lots of fireworks from both sides that ended in Dennis stopping Wilson in the 1st round via TKO.
In the Heavyweight Kickboxing Tournament we saw Jefe Hodges take on Ray Jones. In the upset of the tournament Jones upsets reigning champion Jefe Hodges via Unanimous decision 30-27.
In the next Heavyweight Kickboxing Tournament fans saw Mike Cook meet Rob Morrow. In a slow pace fight, Morrow was able to TKO Cook in the 3rd round via Superman Punch.
Heavyweight Kickboxing Tournament saw Randy Blake go against Eric Lunsford. Randy Blake out classed the heavy handed Lunsford and won via Unanimous Decision.
In the MMA Bout, Daniel Olajiga took on Znick Ferrel. After being dominated in round 1, Olajiga surprised Ferrel with a guillotine choke forcing him to tap out midway through the 2nd round.
In another Heavyweight Kickboxing Tournament, Demoreo Dennis went against Ray Jones. In a fight of two really big men who put it all out there that could have went either way, Demoreo comes out victorious over Jones via unanimous decision.
The next Heavyweight Kickboxing Tournament saw Randy Blake meet Rob Morrow. In arguably the fight of the night. Morrow was down 2 rounds and knocks Blake down at the end of the 3rd with 28-28 across the judges scorecards. Forcing a 1 minute sudden death overtime round. Morrow pulls off the 2nd biggest upset of the tournament winning by split decision with the scores of 38-37. What a fight!
The next MMA bout was in the 135lbs duvision.
Sampson Tabbytite took on Jad Ahlkatib with Tabbytite making quick work against Ahlkatib TKO’ing him in the the first minute of round 1.
The following MMA bout had Nick O’Brien taking on James Ward. In a hard fought battle, O’brien wins via Doctor stoppage before the 3rd round with what appeared to be a possible eye problem.
To end the night fans saw the Heavyweight Kickboxing Tournament Finals. Demoreo Dennis took on Rob Morrow. This fight was an all out war, initially Dennis was called the split decision victory but a Steve Harvey moment the cards had the corners wrong and Morrow is corrected in as the $10k Heavyweight Kickboxing Tournament winner.
