Ana Palacios Out Of Combate Global 41 Co-Main Event

NEW YORK – June 30, 2022 – Combate Global today announced that it has removed Mexican women’s Mixed Martial Arts (MMA) star Ana “La Guerrera” Palacios (6-1-1) from its live event lineup of five fights tomorrow, Friday, July 1 in Miami, due to COVID-19 protocols.
 
The previously announced women’s atomweight (105 pounds) co-main event contest between Palacios of Mexico City and Bo Hyun Kim (4-1) of Seoul, South Korea has been tentatively re-scheduled for Friday, July 15, pending Palacios’s clearance to compete.
 
Friday’s five-fight Combate Global event, which streams live on Paramount+, will proceed with the previously announced women’s 120-pound catchweight contest between undefeated Melissa Amaya (3-0) of Spokane, Wash. and hard-hitting Naomi Tataroglu (3-3) of Oranjestad, Aruba, being elevated to the show’s co-main event.
 
Paramount+ coverage will begin with a Combate Global pre-show at 10:30 p.m. ET/9:30 p.m. CT, and will continue with the fight action, beginning at 11:00 p.m. ET/10:00 p.m. CT.
 
In the previously announced featherweight (145 pounds) main event, undefeated 23-year-old Mexican phenom Ramiro “El Cachanilla” Jimenez (5-0) of Mexicali, B.C. will make his long-awaited return to Combate Global action, and face off with 26-year-old American submission expert Devante Sewell (9-7) of Villa Rica, Ga.
 
The previously announced, preliminary card bout between 2021 “COPA COMBATE” competitor Carlos Briseño (13-3) of Mexico City and battle-tested veteran Andrew Whitney (16-10) of Miami has been elevated to main card status.  The two will face off in a 140-pound catchweight affair.
 
In preliminary fight action that was previously announced, Joey “El Cazador” Ruquet (7-4) of Miami, Fla. will take on Joe Murphy (8-5) of Huntington Beach, Calif. at bantamweight (135 pounds)
 
Unbeaten Mauricio Rios (1-0) of Mexico City will collide with Luis Sifuentes (0-0) of Temecula, Calif. at featherweight.
