On the day of his birthday, Finland’s Olli Santalahti present came through his grappling. The Finnish grappler took the edge against Georges Eid and got his first BRAVE CF win in a razor-thin split decision.
During the first two rounds, Santalahti’s wrestling and BJJ earned him the best moments of the fight. But he eventually got caught by Eid’s powerful hands and got himself in trouble going into the third round.
Luckily to the birthday boy, there was not enough time to take the win out of his hands, at least in the opinion of two out of the three judges. The result, despite being close, wasn’t a surprise for Santalahti.
“I took this fight on two weeks notice, I had to cut 11kg, which was tough, but I was very confident. I was positive I’d won the first two rounds and, although he might have gotten the third, that was my fight”, he said.
