Seef District, Bahrain – BRAVE Combat Federation’s 49th event will officially be headlined by a Super Lightweight bout between Luan Santiago and Benoit St. Denis. Both men made weight this morning, at the Nordic Palace & Spa, the Kombat Kingdom’s official broadcast partner.
Former Lightweight champion Santiago came in at 74,8 kg (165lbs) on the spot while his opponent St. Denis stepped on the scale at 75,2 kg (166lbs), making their fight official. The winner will earn a world title shot at Super Lightweight and face off against divisional king Eldar Eldarov.
In the face-offs, both men were respectful, but their staredown was intense, showing a glimpse of what fans can expect tomorrow night when Luan and Benoit finally face off after a war of words during fight week.
Jose Torres and Blaine O’Driscoll both came in under the limit and had a respectful staredown as they look to lock in a place in the Flyweight tournament semifinals.
In a bout featuring two IMMAF world champions, Abdul Hussein and Muhammad Mokaev confirmed their weights, with both men coming in at 57,1 kg for their Flyweight duel, and had an intense, but respectful staredown.
