Murfreesboro, Tennessee: Johnathan Ivey’s Cage Fighting Championships is starting 2020 with HUGE BANG! The promotion is ready and will be hosting CFC 8. The event will take place on March 7th in Murfreesboro Tennessee at the MID TEN EXPO.
On this stacked card we will see Bo Williams who exploded onto the MMA scene at CFC 7 who easily defeated MMA veteran Zack Lozano in the first round. Williams is currently the #2 ranked contender in the featherweight division at the CFC.
On March 7th, he steps in the cage to take on the #4 ranked contender George Pieratt in a elimination bout, the winner will be getting an immediate title shot. But before he faces George he sat down with FightBook MMA to talk about this bout and his potential title fight.
Bo it is great to get to talk with you before your big fight on March 7th at CFC 8. You kind of made yourself known at CFC 7 winning in a dominant performance with a round one finish! How was it making your debut at CFC 7? Clearly the crowd and the pressure didn’t bother you.
CFC 7 was great I finally got to show my skills off and prove to everyone that I’m a threat in the featherweight division. Yes sir I love the pressure that a fight brings. And as for my Fans I love all of them and can’t thank them enough for all the support.
You’re fighting George Pieratt on March 7th. Pieratt has previously fought your last opponent Zack Lozano and won a close judges decision, have you got a chance to watch that fight yet? And what do you think of Pieratt’s skill set?
Yes I’ve watched the fight and they both looked good. But I see holes in George’s game that I know I can capitalize on.
Pieria is a very confident and outspoken fighter who isn’t shy to say what he thinks of his opponents and his ability. Has Pieratt gotten under your skin with the type things he says?
No sir he hasn’t. It’s just another fight to me.
The winner of your fight March 7th has been guaranteed a immediate title shot later this year. Are you going to be paying close attention to CFC featherweight champion Alexander Schenk defend his title against Ebi Sikpi on March 7th? Do you have a prediction on that fight?
Yes sir I am it’s gonna be a good fight. I don’t know who is gonna win. But I’m looking forward to the fight.
Bo we wish you nothing but the best and are looking forward to your fight at CFC 8. Is there anyone you would like to thank or show dome love to before we end the interview?
First off I want to thank my family for all they do for me. I also want to think Shelbyville BJJ Team and coach kenny for everything. And second I would like to think my workout coach Jake Roberts. Last but not least I want to thank all my fans for all the love and support. See y’all March 7th.
