A featherweight matchup between bantamweight prospects, Cody ‘Spartan’ Stamann and Brian ‘Boom’ Kelleher is in the works to feature at UFC 250 on June 6th. – with the UFC Apex facility in Las Vegas, Nevada expected to host the card.

Michigan native, Stamann, is unbeaten in his last two outings, taking a controversial majority draw against Song Yadong – after a unanimous decision win over Alejandro Pérez. 33-year-old challenger, Kelleher is also unbeaten in his last two appearances, taking two victories already this year, against Ode Osborne, and Hunter Azure – the latter just two weeks ago. News of the expected pairing was first reported by BJPenn.com reporter, Cole Shelton.

30-year-old contender, Stamann arrived in the promotion back in July of 2017 – dropping only a defeat to top-contender, Aljamain ‘Funk Master’ Sterling in the process. With a 5-1 Octagon record, Stamann has defeated prospect, Terrion Ware, former BAMMA featherweight and bantamweight best, Tom Duquesnoy, Bryan Caraway, as well as the above-noted results against Pérez, and Yadong. The Xtreme Couture trainee was originally scheduled to meet with Raoni Barcelos at UFC Fight Night San Diego on May 16th., however, the entire event was shelved due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.

Following his stunning knockout of the then faultless Azure in Florida, New York native, Kelleher – called for a pairing with division upstart, ‘Sugar’ Sean O’Malley. Although that pairing has failed to materialise at this time of asking – a winning performance against someone as highly considered as Stamann, goes a considerable way in raising his stock further.

Following a statement submission of Iuri Alcântara in a July 2017 bow, Kelleher has amassed a record of 5-3. Another high-profile win followed; a unanimous decision shutout of former bantamweight kingpin, Renan Barão. In those three blemishes, the Long Island MMA trainee was submitted by prospects, Marlon Vera, and Montel Jackson – in between a knockout defeat to perennial 135-pound contender, recent ONE Championship signee, John ‘Hands Of Stone’ Lineker.
