When it comes to top prospects in the St. Louis area one of the first names that people will say is Josh Augustine (4-1). The 26-year-old St. Charles MMA product defended his Nemesis Fighting Alliance featherweight title Saturday night making short work of a game Colton Hamm (1-1) with a vicious liver kick. Augustine’s four victories have all came inside the NFA and ended in stoppages in the very first round.
The lone speed bump was a twenty-seven-day notice LFA bout against TUF alum Thai Clark (who came in five pounds over) and which Augustine admits he took lightly. After that bout Augustine found his way to a mental coach and it’s evident that Augustine is now laser focused and ready to take on all comers at featherweight.
In just two short weeks the top prospect is expecting his first child (a boy) and that has lit a fire under him like nothing else can. Augustine was kind enough to sit down with FightBookMMA Fighter Focus to talk about the victory, being a martial artist, soon becoming a new dad and so many other things.
