Jon Jones vs. Dominick Reyes Expected To Headline UFC 247 In February

Reigning UFC light heavyweight champion, Jon ‘Bones’ Jones, is expected to defend his 205-pound championship at UFC 247 on February 8th. in Texas, against perennial division contender, Dominick ‘The Davastator’ Reyes.

The news of the meeting was first revealed by BJPenn.com’s Chris Taylor via his official Twitter account. Both Jones and Reyes have recently traded barbs across their respective social media’s, with the matchup expected to feature during the first quarter of next year. Jones is attempting to secure a third successful title defense of his latest reign, after a narrow victory over Brazilian Muay Thai ace Thiago ‘Marreta’ Santos in his last Octagon outing.

UFC 247 challenger Reyes, retained his undefeated record against former middleweight best, Chris Weidman as the pair headlined UFC Fight Night Boston three week’s ago. The 29-year-old has edged out both Corey Anderson and UFC Fight Night Sao Paulo headliner Jan Blachowicz in terms of the next challenger to Jones’ throne, having secured six wins since his promotional bow two years ago.

UFC 247 takes place on February 8th. in Houston, Texas from the Toyota Centre.
