Following the withdrawal of former UFC lightweight title challenger, Diego Sanchez from his UFC Vegas 26 retirement clash with Donald Cerrone on May 8th. — Kevin Holland has once again offered his services on short notice to the UFC, offering to meet Cerrone at a 175-pound catchweight contest.

Reports emerged yesterday evening that Sanchez had been forced to withdraw from his UFC Vegas 26 clash with Cerrone, and that the promotion was actively searching for a short-notice replacement for the Albuquerque native, which would keep Cerrone on the UFC Apex facility card.

The withdrawal of Sanchez follows the scrapping of the promotion’s scheduled main event for the card, after the returning, T.J. Dillashaw was forced to remove himself from a high-profile potential bantamweight title-eliminator against Cory Sandhagen after he had suffered a sizeable laceration above his right eye due to an inadvertent head butt during training.

Expected to take main event status in a short-notice reworked headliner, top-ten strawweight contenders, Michelle Waterson and Marina Rodriguez are expected to meet in a flyweight main event.

Posting on his official Instagram account, Riverside native, Holland offered his services on short-notice against Cerrone, detailing how he could step on the scale in and around 175-pounds to keep the Denver native on the card.

I’ll gladly step up probably come in around 175 (-pounds) but if cowboy needs a dog to go along for the ride maybe show you a few tricks….. Suffering defeats in his last two Octagon walks, Holland headlined UFC Vegas 22 in March against Derek Brunson, dropping a unanimous decision defeat.

Replacing Darren Till, who suffered a broken collarbone, Holland met with Marvin Vettori at UFC on ABC 2 on April 10th. — suffering another one-sided unanimous judging loss.

For BMF Ranch propertier, Cerrone, the veteran Colorado-born striker is winless in his last five Octagon outings. In his last walk, he met with Niko Price at UFC Vegas 11 in September, in an eventual ‘No Contest’ result after Price tested positive for marijuana.
