All the fighters weighed-in today ahead of KSW 53 on Saturday night in Warsaw, Poland and in another twist to the Norman Parke (28-6-1) and Mateusz Gamrot (15-0) saga, it was the Northern Irishman who missed weight. The pair came to an agreement to complete their trilogy and keep the fight a 5 x 5 round contest, however, it will now be a non-title bout.
The rivals first met at KSW 39 in May, 2017 with Gamrot walking away with a very close decision victory. They then had an immediate rematch at KSW 40 in Dublin, Ireland a few months later but this ended in a no-contest after Parke suffered an accidental eye-poke. Tempers flared in the cage post-fight between Parke and Gamrot’s team before being separated by officials.
Now the score will finally be settled at KSW 53.
The fighters throughout the rest of the card all made weight including the co-main event contest between former featherweight champion Marcin Wrzosek (14-6) and former welterweight champion Borys Mankowski (20-8-1), which will be competed at lightweight. Polish MMA legend Tomasz Drwal (21-5-1) was also successful making weight on his return after five years away from the sport.
KSW 53: Reborn this Saturday, July 11 live from a studio in Warsaw, Poland on www.KSWTV.com & the brand new KSW App available on iOS and Android, and through our various TV & streaming partners globally.
